Your lesson
You keep ownership of what you write. By submitting, you give TechStuff SARL a worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and adapt it for Hindsight Club and its social channels — including as an image card — with the name you chose or as “Anon”.
You can ask us to take a lesson down at any time and we will, usually within a few days. Cards already posted to social platforms may persist there; we’ll delete the ones we control.
Don’t submit someone else’s words, anything that identifies a specific person, or anything you don’t have the right to give us.
What we collect
- What you type. The lesson, its category, and any optional first name, the age you learned it, and the age you wish you’d known it. All of it may be published.
- Basic request data. IP address and user agent, processed briefly for spam and abuse prevention via Cloudflare Turnstile; we store only a truncated salted hash alongside pending submissions.
We don’t ask for accounts, emails, and there’s nothing to log into.
Ads & analytics
The site carries display advertising — at most one unit per six lessons in the feed, one on a lesson page, and none at all on the submit page or inside the form. Ad partners may set cookies or use device identifiers to select and measure ads; where consent is required, you’ll see a prompt before that happens.
We use aggregate analytics (Google Analytics, behind the same consent prompt) to see which lessons people read. No cross-site profiles, no ad-targeting on the basis of what you submitted. Every cookie is named, with lifetimes and a change-your-mind button, in the Cookie Policy; consent is per-purpose, opt-in, versioned, and withdrawable at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (UK/EU GDPR included), you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. One email does it — no forms.
Who we are & where data lives
The data controller is TechStuff SARL, Paris, France. Hosting and email run on AWS in the EU (Ireland); some ad and analytics partners process data in the US under standard contractual clauses.
Using the site
Lessons are members’ opinions and lived experience. They are not medical, legal, or financial advice, and following one is your call. We may edit typos, remove anything that breaks the rules on the About page, and change or close the site.
The site is provided as-is, and our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.
