Cookie Policy

What gets stored on your device, why, and for how long. Change your mind any time — reopens the choice.

How consent works here

Nothing optional runs until you choose. We apply the strictest rules (EU GDPR / French CNIL guidance) to everyone, everywhere — opt-in, per purpose, with “refuse” as easy as “accept”. Refusing changes nothing about how the site works. Google services receive your choice through Consent Mode v2, with everything denied by default.

Your choice is stored with a date and a policy version. If this policy materially changes, we ask again rather than assuming.

The full list

  • hc-consent — Local storage. Necessary. Remembers your cookie choices (and their date/version). Lifetime: Until you clear it.
  • hc-draft — Local storage. Necessary. Keeps your unsent lesson so a failed submit never loses your words. Lifetime: Until submitted.
  • cf_clearance / Turnstile — Cookie (Cloudflare). Necessary. Bot check on the submit form only. Lifetime: Up to 30 minutes.
  • _ga, _ga_* — Cookie (Google Analytics). Analytics — only with consent. Aggregate reading stats; IP anonymised. Lifetime: Up to 14 months.
  • Google advertising cookies — Cookie (Google). Advertising — only with consent. Ad selection, delivery and measurement (once ads launch). Lifetime: Varies — see Google policy.

No other cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking. Fonts are self-hosted; no third-party CDNs observe your visit.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends the GPC signal, we treat it as a binding opt-out from advertising storage — regardless of what you click here. This also serves as the “Do Not Sell or Share” mechanism for readers in US states with that right (CCPA/CPRA).

Changing your mind

(also in the footer of every page) reopens the panel; withdrawal takes effect immediately for new activity. Already-set Google cookies can be cleared in your browser. Questions or complaints: info@hindsightclub.com (TechStuff SARL, the data controller — see the Privacy Policy for your full rights, including complaining to the CNIL or your local authority).
